| 09/05/2006 Inside the Sportage offers more room, more standard features, and more quality than the previous model. Gordon Dickie, formerly of Mazda Research and Development (Rs image, Dickie has really made a big difference and will continue to do so for future Kia models. Kias new tag line is "the power to surprise," and I was actually surprised that the Sportage could offer so much for so little cash. Unexpected niceties like the drop-and-fold second-row seats, a cleanly styled instrument panel, standard AM/FM/CD player, and power windows/locks/mirrors are delightful; kind of like receiving a big bouquet of flowers from your guy and its not even a special occasion. If you desire even more goodies, the EX model adds a power sunroof, remote keyless entry and a cargo cover in addition to the already long list of features. Safety? Fuggedaboudit. Theres more protection here than in P Diddys entourage. Six standard airbags, standard four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Traction Control, and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) are included even in the LX.
